Every first Monday of the month, we will meet at our school library promptly after school for an hour to talk about books! Everyone will be asked to choose a book, purchase a book, and participate in the discussion at the following meeting. We will have about 15 minutes of discussion, then an activity will follow. Some of the activities include: drawing our favorite parts of the book, acting out scenes in small groups, creating a film strip of the events, and more.
Parents, we highly encourage you to read the book with your child to ensure he or she comprehends the book. You may also attend our book club meetings, if you like. We are in need of volunteers to be in attendance at our meetings, as well as volunteers that will contribute sharing snacks and drinks. A sign-up form on an iPad will be available for parents that would like to help with our Book Club.
Students, if you are interested in joining the Book Club, please complete and return the form given to you by your teacher. Our first book will be Kelly DiPucchio's, Everyone Loves Bacon. Our guidance counselor and one of the P.E. teachers will also be in attendance to discuss the book with us! Drinks and light refreshments will be served. Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at 4pm. See you there!
